Across the eight US individual-contributor postings, the forward deployed engineer salary range starts between $135,000 (Palantir) and $189,000 (Ramp). The top of the range runs from $200,000 (Palantir) to $330,000 (Ramp).

The AI labs and fintech post the widest ranges. OpenAI's New York posting spans $153,000 to $325,000, which suggests one posting covers several levels. Palantir posts the same $135,000 to $200,000 range in New York and Palo Alto.

Pay for related roles

Management and strategy roles sit on either side of the engineering band. Anthropic's Manager, Forward Deployed Engineering posting in New York lists $320,000 to $405,000. Palantir's Deployment Strategist, the less technical partner to its FDEs, lists $110,000 to $170,000 in New York.

What to compare before you take an offer
